Talk title: Mechatronic Innovations in Advanced Thermal Management for Efficient and Sustainable Transport Systems.
Abstract:
Alongside the development of sustainable transportation technologies toward net-zero emissions, there is an increasing demand for energy-efficient, advanced thermal management solutions that meet diverse thermal requirements across vehicle sub-systems and transport categories. This keynote will introduce how advancements in mechatronics enable the transformation of thermal management in sustainable transport applications.
The presentation will give an overview of thermal management systems, outlining the needs, development challenges and state-of-the-art solutions. Emerging mechatronic technologies, ranging from hardware to software innovations, to advance thermal systems and enable seamless integration within electrified transport architectures will be introduced through real-world case studies in battery systems, motorcycles, passenger vehicles, and commercial vehicles conducted in WMG, the University of Warwick, in collaboration with industrial partners. A research outlook on thermal management will conclude the speech, offering recommendations for improving efficiency and resilience of thermal system whilst minimising the environmental impact.

Talk title: AIoT in Sensing and Control Applications
Abstract:
Applications of AI algorithms, models, technologies, and systems play important roles and can be found everywhere, including widespread usage in industry. Furthermore, AI can be integrated with other techniques, such as Internet of Things (IoT), sensing and control methods, and edge computing to become powerful tools for industry and aquaculture domains.
By deploying various sensors on machines or working environments, rich data can be collected every second. Without fully utilizing the sensed data, data are nothing but garbage. By contrast, if we can apply AI algorithms and/or machine learning models to train, analyze, control and predict what will happy in the machine operation or working environment, then data can be transformed from garbage to precious gold.
This talk will focus on addressing the applications of AIoT in line with man-machine interfaces, sensors, computer vision and recognition, automated navigation, etc.
